E3 is rapidly approaching and if you’re anything like us here at Out of Lives you’re probably trying to keep track of which games will be making an appearance at this years big event. Well fear no longer gamers, we have put together a list for you so you can see what has been confirmed for E3 so far (as of May 27th).
- Attack on Titan – Known in Europe as A.O.T.: Wings of Freedom, is a video game based on Hajime Isayama’s manga series of the same name released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita in Japan. It was released on February 18, 2016, in Japan. On April 7, Koei Tecmo announced a Western release in North America and Europe for August 2016. Xbox One and Microsoft Windows versions were also revealed.
- Battlefield 1 – An upcoming World War I first-person shooter video game developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is the fourteenth installment in the Battlefield franchise, the first main entry in the series since Battlefield 4 (2013), and the first World War I video game published by Electronic Arts since Wings of Glory in 1994. The game is scheduled to be released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One worldwide on October 21, 2016.
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – An upcoming first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It is the thirteenth primary installment in the Call of Duty series and is set to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 4, 2016
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – An upcoming cyberpunk-themed action role-playing video game—combining first-person shooter, stealth and role-playing elements—developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix as a sequel to the 2011 Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Set two years after Human Revolution, Mankind Divided features the return of Adam Jensen, with new technology and body augmentations. It is played from the first-person perspective, with a third-person perspective cover system. Release is set for August 23rd on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and Playstation 4.
- Dishonored 2 – An upcoming first-person, action-adventure, stealth, role-playing video game being developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The sequel to 2012’s Dishonored, the game is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 11, 2016
- F1 2016 – A racing game which is based on the 2016 Formula One season developed by Codemasters. The game is the 7th installment is the F1 franchise officially developed by Codemasters. It will be coming to Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Windows PC.
- Final Fantasy XV – An upcoming action role-playing video game being developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and currently scheduled for a worldwide release on September 30, 2016. It is the fifteenth main installment in the Final Fantasy series, and holds a loose connection to Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy XV is being developed by a team within Square Enix’s 2nd Business Division, and is the first to use the company’s Luminous Studio middleware engine.
- Final Fantasy Brave Exvius – A mobile role-playing game developed by A-Lim and published by Square Enix for iOS and Android devices. A spinoff of the Final Fantasy series, the game marks as the first collaborative effort between Square-Enix and A-Lim, the creator of Brave Frontier, and draws elements from A-Lim’s previous game. It was released in Japan in October 22, 2015 but will be arriving on western shores sometime soon.
- Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward – An expansion pack. The main storyline of the expansion pack deals with the Dragonsong War, a thousand-year conflict between Ishgard and Dravania, the home of the dragon beast tribe, which is also available to be explored. Free Companies can craft airships and use them to discover floating continents above the clouds. A number of new instances such as dungeons, two Primal battles and the Alexander: Gordias raid are introduced. Seal Rock, a capture the flag style PvP map, is added to the Frontlines. The level cap is increased to 60.
- Untitled New Forza – Although we have no information at this time it most likely will be a new entry into the Forza: Horizon sub-franchise; although a Forza Motorsport 6 expansion isn’t out of the picture.
- Hitman – Hitman will see players perform contract hits on powerful, high-profile targets in exotic locations around the world, from the highly fashionable Paris and sunny coast of Italy to the dust and hustle of the markets in Marrakesh in this creative stealth action game. Expect more expansions on to the series.
- I am Setsuna – A Japanese role-playing video game developed by Tokyo RPG Factory and published by Square Enix. It was released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan in February 2016, and is scheduled for release in North America and Europe for PS4 and Microsoft Windows via Steam in July 2016. The story, set in a land gripped by perpetual winter, follows a mercenary and his charge, a maiden named Setsuna who must offer herself as a sacrifice at a sacred shrine to appease hostile demons. The story’s central theme is sadness. The gameplay, which is deliberately designed to evoke role-playing games of the 1990s, uses an Active Time Battle system based on those used in early Final Fantasy games and Chrono Trigger.
- Just Cause 3 – An open world action-adventure video game developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Square Enix. The sequel to 2010’s Just Cause 2. It was released worldwide on December 1, 2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Expect some announcements for expansion packs or DLC.
- The Legend of Zelda – An upcoming action-adventure game in development by Nintendo for the Wii U and the company’s upcoming home video game console, codenamed “NX”. It is the nineteenth main installment in the The Legend of Zelda series and the first original Zelda game developed with a high-definition resolution. The game will feature an open world in which players can find different ways to approach areas.
- Mafia III – An upcoming action-adventure video game developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games, scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows, OS X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, on October 7, 2016. It is the third installment in the Mafia series, and the debut title for Hangar 13. Set in 1968 in the city of New Bordeaux, the story revolves around Lincoln Clay, an orphan and a Vietnam War veteran, who is on a quest to build a new crime organization to confront the Italian mob.
- Milestone S.R.L & Valentino Rossi The Game – Participate in the official MotoGP championship, retrace Rossi’s career from its beginnings to the present day, take control of a Rally car and let loose on various tracks such as the Monza Rally, participate in thrilling Flat Track races and discover the world of the Valentino Rossi Ranch. Coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC.
- Nioh – In Ni-oh, players will traverse war-torn Japan as William, a blonde-haired swordsman whose background as a fierce warrior and seasoned knowledge of the blade allows him to survive in the demon-plagued land of the samurai. Coming to Playstation 4 in 2016.
- Persona 5 – An upcoming role-playing video game being developed and published by Atlus for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Persona 5 takes place in the city of Tokyo, and follows a silent Protagonist after their transfer to the fictional Syujin High School after being put on probation for assault on a stalker. During the course of a school year, he and other students awaken to their Persona powers, become masked vigilantes dubbed the “Phantom Thieves of Hearts”, and explore a supernatural realm called “Palace” to steal ill intent from the hearts of adults.
- Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness – An action role-playing video game developed by tri-Ace and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The battle system is similar to other games in the Star Ocean series, with the player controlling one of seven party members in battles, with the ability to switch control of characters. The real-time action battle system features improved game mechanics. The storytelling cutscenes are intended to be interactive and dynamic, and seamlessly transition with the gameplay.
- Titanfall 2 – An upcoming first-person shooter video game, the sequel to Titanfall. It is being developed by Respawn Entertainment and will be published by Electronic Arts. Titanfall 2 features wall-running and battle mechs in fast, frantic gameplay. The game is planned to be released in Q4 2016.
- Yooka-Laylee – An upcoming exploratory 3D platform game for Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, PlayStation 4, Wii U and Xbox One with an expected release window of October 2016. It is being developed by Playtonic Games, a group of several former key personnel from Rare during the Nintendo 64 era, as a spiritual successor to their work from that time period. The game is intended as a resurrection of the “collectathon” 3D platforming game genre of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
- WRC 6 – The official racing video game of the World Rally Championship season. Not much is known about the game at this time.
