Ben Affleck says his upcoming Batman movie will tell an “original story”.
We know next to nothing about the Batman movie, but there have been plenty of rumors floating around the internet some of which claim it will somehow rope in just about every major villain we have seen in Batmans very long history. Yet in a new interview with Argentine outlet Cinos Argentinos, Affleck’s spoke about the story he is writing for the movie, how it will be original and only take inspiration from what has come before.
“I think what I would do is, I would probably do in some ways what Zack [Snyder] did with this movie, which is to borrow certain things from great comic books but create an original story around it,” Affleck said. “Because I wouldn’t want fans to already know the story and be familiar, but I would borrow and steal great things that have been done before in the comics.”
As long as we don’t get another origin story, i’ll be happy. Affleck’s Batman was easily the best thing about ‘Batman Vs Superman’ and I’m generally looking forward to seeing him on-screen again. May have to wait a while though as the movie is currently thought to be scheduled for either October 5th 2018 or November 1st 2019, since they’re dates on Warner Bros schedule without names attached.
