The Faction rally has begun and we finally get to see the revamped faction system of Destiny 2 and with that comes the difficult task of picking your faction. Well, let me make it easier for you. Pick New Monarchy, Job Done.
“Hope will be born from the collective triumphs of the king in us all.”
—Grimoire Description
If you still need convincing then allow me to explain why. New Monarchy believes in Law and order and it is the one faction dedicated to restoring our world to its former glory and creating a better future for our people. New monarchy rose from the ashes of the faction wars with one very simple but powerful tenant “Together we will rise.” how can you not get behind such a hopeful message? Yes, the faction wars led to the establishment of the Consensus but they remain cautious about the state of the City and it’s politics, never fully trusting the Speaker (and if you have completed the main quest then… well you know) the Consensus and the Vanguard. They believe that for true leadership to properly reign over the City and its people a new monarch should be placed in charge instead of the current fragile alliance between the factions. If that leadership cannot be found, then it must be created.
Ask yourself, Who was there when the Cabal Red Legion invaded the Last City? New Monarchy! Who provided evacuations and relief efforts to the survivors, more so than any of the other factions combined and at a personal loss. New Monarchy! What loss? well despite their continued dedication to the city some citizens have begun to steal supplies from New Monarchy, suggesting to follow “Hawthorne’s lead” following a new “power to the people” type movement. However, New Monarchy has not been phased by this and has set up a recruiting stand and base of operations in the Bazaar and next to Hawthorne herself, proving they are there for the people. New Monarchy is ambitious and will continue to give the city and its guardians the arms and supplies needed to one day retake control of our solar system. Can’t see the space emo’s doing that now can you?
New Monarchy is guided by seven tenants that they follow religiously, including such classics as::
To secure our walls from the enemies without.
To secure the rights and liberties of every upstanding citizen.
To sponsor the sciences of the City, and salvage the ruins beyond, so that our Golden Age might be reborn.
To support the Guardian Orders by leading the City in technological innovations.
To support the natural harmony of the City, and to actively dissuade any group or individual that might disrupt that harmony.
To hold all individuals, compacts, and alliances to the highest standards of productivity and right behaviour.
To, by vote of the Consensus, abolish the Consensus, and transfer ultimate power, in order that the rights and liberties of all citizens be secured, to a single sovereign of unimpeachable character.
And if you are still not convinced then come on, SPACE KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE!
Come on, if you haven’t decided, Join New Monarchy today. You know it makes sense.
“What separates us from the Darkness? It is neither our technology nor our strength in battle. It is our minds, civilization and potential. Why else would the Traveler have chosen us? The Last City can be more than a cradle of refugees. It cries out for a guiding hand that can bring out its best.”
